“I am youthful and timeless at every age.” That’s the affirmation that Jennifer Lopez tells herself every morning, and it’s also the mantra that’s she taking into her newest endeavor: a skin-care line. It’s been a few months since the multi-hyphenate star teased her brand, JLo Beauty, with a glowing selfie and cryptic caption. But the wait is finally over, and we learned everything about the anticipated brand — from the release date to the product details — straight from JLo herself.

According to the founder, these products have been 20 years and 100 reformulations in the making, with skin care always being the most obvious choice as a business venture. “It’s the thing that people wanted from me,” Lopez told a small group of beauty editors during a virtual press event. “The number one question, no matter where I went, if I was promoting a movie or music, it was, ‘What are you doing for your skin?’ As I got more mature, the question came even more frequently.”
Now, all those questions finally have an answer: an eight-product line that’s launching January 1, 2021 at jlobeauty.com and at Sephora and Amazon on January 14, 2021. JLo Beauty That JLo Glow Multitasking Serum We’re betting that this serum — which promises to deliver that iconic JLO glow — will be the most popular product of the line. Lopez says it took extensive work to get it right — about 26 takes, to be exact. “It took a lot,” says Lopez. “It was like ‘Ok, go back one more time.’ ‘Ok, We’re getting close.’ I might’ve drove [the team] a little crazy.”
JLo Beauty That Limitless Glow Multitasking Mask JLo also packed the serum into these sheet masks, which she’s constantly replenishing in her kit. Customers will have the option to snag one ($18) or a pack of three. ($48).
JLo Beauty That Blockbuster Wonder Cream Olive oil is the base ingredient of every product, thanks to JLo’s family tradition. “It’s something that’s been a secret of my mom’s and our family for hair and skin,” she said. You’ll find this Olive Complex (4-part olive blend of squalane, fermented oil, extra virgin oil, and leaf extract) in products like this rich face cream that also has peptides and hyaluronic acid.
JLo Beauty That Big Screen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Moisturizer Taking it back to a dermatologist appointment she had when she was 22 years old, where the doctor taught her the importance of sunscreen, Lopez felt her line would be incomplete without a sun protection option.
JLo Beauty That Fresh Take Eye Cream Every detail, from the ingredients to the packaging, was carefully curated by Lopez. Take the gold accents, for example: They’re actually based off one of her pieces of jewelry and her longtime love for accessories. “I’m from the Bronx. We used to pile on the bracelets, big earrings. That is me,” Lopez says. “I’ve always had a love affair with jewelry.”
JLo Beauty That Hit Single Gel Cleanser As someone who wears a lot of makeup for work, Lopez aimed to create a cleanser that actually took everything off. The result: This creamy gel cleanser that promises to be gentle enough to massage over your eyes but effective enough to dissolve your most stubborn eyeliner.
JLo Beauty That Star Filter Instant Complexion Booster This skin care-makeup hybrid is a multi-use product that uses mineral pigments to give a shimmer-like glow. The lightweight formula — which comes in four shades from bronze to rose gold — can be mixed in with your foundation or moisturizer or dabbed on the high points of the face.
JLo Beauty That Inner Beauty Dietary Supplement Looking to her commitment to wellness, JLo pushed to include supplements, including vitamin E, in her line. “People fought me on that, but you need to be working from the inside while putting something really healthy on the outside,” she tells us. This offering forms part of the brand’s “five S’s”: Sleep, Sunscreen, Serum, Supplements, and Sano (health in Spanish). As for the future of JLo Beauty, Lopez is looking to expand into body care and skin-care additions like facial oils, which she says she’s already developing.
