On Monday (Oct. 19), M·A·C Cosmetics announced that Blackpink’s Lisa will serve as the beauty brand’s new global ambassador.
“Lisa’s unparalleled talent and bold, fashion-forward style make her the perfect match for M·A·C,” svp and global creative director Drew Elliott said of the K-pop idol in a statement. “Always confident and never one to shy away from risks, she embodies our commitment to celebrating individuality and self-expression above all else. We can’t wait for her fans to see what she has in store for them through our collaboration.”
“M·A·C is truly at the forefront of trendsetting, which reminds me every time I see a M·A·C campaign or the incredible looks their artists create backstage at fashion weeks around the world,” Lisa added in her own statement following the news. “It’s an honor to partner with a brand with such an incredible heritage and unrivaled expertise in makeup artistry. I am thrilled and looking forward to this journey!”
The Thai girl group member also shared a special message to fans in making the announcement, saying, “Never give up on your dreams, no matter how painful and difficult your journey is. If you trust in yourself and fight for it until the end, your dreams WILL come true. You can do it!”
Blinks have gotten an even more intimate look at the lives of Lisa and her band mates recently, thanks to Blackpink’s new Netflix documentary, Blackpink: Light Up the Sky.
In the film, Lisa opened up about her days as a trainee for YG Entertainment, her love for vintage shopping and the pressure she felt about becoming a role model for her Thai fans. The documentary also captured the development of Blackpink’s first world tour, culminating in their history-making pair of Coachella sets in April 2019.
