Away, the stylish brand beloved for its well-designed suitcases, is finally expanding beyond carryons, weekenders, and checked bags. The travel company has just launched a range of bags and accessories that do double-duty between everyday life and when we’re all back out exploring the world again.
The new additions to Away actually come in two parts: a core collection and a limited edition holiday drop, each of which have a price range between around $50 and $300. The core collection launches November 12, followed by the release of the holiday accessories on November 19.
Products across both collections include small leather goods like card holders and wallets, plus bags designed to meet everyday needs: Think items like The Messenger Bag, The Laptop Bag, the Large and Mini Everywhere bag, all with Away’s signature minimalist aesthetic and clever functionalities.
For those who are looking for travel pieces, other new additions include The Centerfold Garment Sleeve, which secures to both carry-on and checked bags, water-resistant toiletry bags sized to fit in any Away suitcase, The Tech Case to keep cords organized and even The Passport Wallet.
Fabrics in the core collection riff on favorites from Away’s existing suite of shades used with their luggage, while those in the holiday collection get a more seasonal treatment that features berry tones.
The expansion had been in the works for some time, according to a statement from the company, but the pandemic caused Away to bump up the timeline to meet the needs of their customers at the moment. To further speak to the “weirdness of travel” in 2020, Away commissioned American artist Robert Beatty to create otherworldly illustrations for the launch of the new releases. Curious?
