RAM, LDV importer mounts big accessories push

Big suppliers sign on to Ateco’s new Upfitter outlet for RAM, Chevy, Ford trucks and more

More than 40 aftermarket accessory brands have signed on to a new initiative from RAM and LDV importer Ateco Group, which has developed an online store called Upfitter that is targeting Australian ute and SUV owners.

Whether it’s bull bars or spot lights, roof racks or suspension lift kits, big-name brands such as Warn, Husky, WeatherTech and many more are involved in the new e-commerce site, which is designed to cater for not only Ateco brands – vehicles such as the RAM 1500 and 2500, and the LDV T60 ute – but others including Ford and Chevrolet.

The move is clearly designed to cash in on the booming aftermarket accessories sector in Australia, as well as direct more business through Ateco’s 170-strong dealer network and servicing points which can fit the accessories.

Ateco claims its research and development team spent the past two years in the US to better understand the scale and capabilities of existing accessories before it decided to launch locally.

Upfitter’s chief operating officer, David Smitherman, says gaining local traction for Australian accessory manufacturers can be difficult.

“Upfitter allows them to have national exposure and significant fitment coverage, so we welcome the opportunity to represent them,” Smitherman said.

“Camping, off-roading, road trips and fishing adventures – these are all activities rooted deep in Australian culture and require fit-for-purpose accessories. If the product comes from Upfitter, it means it’s an accessory we’ve tested and loved.”

Ateco said the business is split between interior, exterior and performance hubs, covering “everything from antennas to fuel locks, floor mats to bed steps, lighting to suspension lifts” and that “this range is being added to daily”.

The company said that alongside universal fitment accessories, there are specific products for Ford, Chevrolet, LDV and RAM vehicles, with additional brands and vehicle types to be added early in 2021.

They recently celebrated five years together, and presenter Lisa Snowdon could not be happier with her fiancé George Smart.

In April, the couple confirmed that they had to postpone their wedding – which was due to take place in Japan this year. Due to the ongoing pandemic, Lisa and George thought it best to celebrate with friends and family at a later date.

Lisa, 48, says their bond has never been stronger. Of her 40-year-old fiancé, she gushed: “He’s such a positive person, but especially in a year like this, when life has often felt so challenging, scary and strange, he’s got this incredible hope and enthusiasm that is such a terrific energy to be around.” She added: “He’s gorgeous, he’s fun and I love that we’re a team.

The couple have been engaged since 2017

“For a long time, I was kind of in limbo about what I deserved from a relationship,” reflected Lisa, who was 29 when she met George, when they were both working at MTV. They had “a little fling”, but it fizzled out and they lost touch – only to be reunited by a friend almost two decades later.

“It was only when I took time out to reassess what I’d been doing as far as relationships go – the kind of people I was attracting and how that made me feel about myself – that I could work out what I did want and channel that. That’s when George came back into my life.”

‘Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding’ Star Teases It’s Not An ‘Easy Road’ To Jacquie & Tyler’s Big Day

Click here to read the full article.

Jacquie and Tyler’s love story continues in ‘Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding.’ HL spoke EXCLUSIVELY with Thomas Cadrot about the couple’s road to the big day and a potential third movie!

Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding is making Lifetime history. The film, premiering Nov. 28, is Lifetime’s first-ever Christmas sequel. Jacquie and Tyler are planning their perfect destination wedding in the sequel. HollywoodLife talked EXCLUSIVELY with Thomas Cadrot about Jacquie and Tyler’s journey.

“Without spoiling too much, it’s not going to be an easy road to the wedding,” Thomas revealed. “But I can also say it’s going to be a beautiful one. It’s going to be a very majestic one. We shot in a beautiful location here off the coast of Vancouver, in Victoria, a beautiful resort and the setting was fabulous. Everything just got upgraded this year, whether it was wardrobe or location. Jackie and her wedding dress… she was magnificent. I had to tell Kelly [Rowland] in between takes that this required no acting at all. Like my breath was taken away from me when I saw her walk through the door in that wedding dress. So I can guarantee a very beautiful ceremony, a very emotional one.”

Returning for a sequel is something he didn’t expect, Thomas is so grateful that it happened. “We feel very fortunate,” Thomas told HollywoodLife. “For me, particularly, just being part of this cast the first time around was so much fun. After 20 days of shooting, it felt like you were kind of leaving your family a little bit. So the fact that we got to be reunited a year later, especially doing a sequel, which has never been done at Lifetime, I feel very, very happy.”

A Merry Liddle Christmas sequel opens the door for a potential third movie. “I’m down for anything,” Thomas said about returning for a third movie. “We can keep making these. I will keep signing on to them. It’s so much fun. I don’t know exactly what the plan is, but I’m always on board.”

As for the storyline for a potential third movie, Thomas thinks a “baby storyline” is a “given. But also, maybe not necessarily our baby. Maybe Treena’s baby. There are so many directions we can go in because it’s such a big family with very charismatic characters that any storyline will keep us engaged.”

Sydney Thunder outshine Melbourne Stars to win Women’s Big Bash League

Sydney Thunder outshine Melbourne Stars to win Women’s Big Bash League

(Reuters) – The Sydney Thunder secured their second Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) title on Saturday after an emphatic seven-wicket victory over Melbourne Stars in the final in Sydney.

Set a target of just 87 runs to win their first title since the inaugural 2015-16 season, the Thunder romped home in 13.4 overs to become the joint-most successful team in the league alongside the Sydney Sixers and the Brisbane Heat.

The Stars took three wickets during the chase before Thunder skipper Rachael Haynes (21 not out) came to the crease to join Heather Knight (26 not out), who wrapped things up with a six over long off.

“It’s an incredible feeling. It’s an amazing effort from everyone at the club,” Haynes said at the presentation ceremony.

“I’d like to thank all the international players and staff who went through quarantine to get the tournament up and running.”

The entire WBBL season was played in Sydney due to state border restrictions in place to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, and all 59 matches were held across five venues in the city.

Earlier, the Stars were left thunderstruck when they were held to 86-9 in their allotted 20 overs – the lowest total in a WBBL final – as all six Thunder bowlers picked up at least one wicket.

South African Shabnim Ismail was the pick of the bowlers, getting rid of both openers to go with her 16 dot balls in four overs, while Australian Sammy-Jo Johnson also picked up two wickets.

England veteran Katherine Brunt top-scored for the Stars with an unbeaten 22 and kept the scoreboard ticking over even as the team struggled to find the ropes at the North Sydney Oval.

Players from both teams took a knee before the game in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The match also marked the first time two women – Claire Polosak and Eloise Sheridan – officiated a major domestic final in Australia.

Fans fume as Channel Seven relegate Women’s Big Bash final to secondary channel

Channel Seven has come under fire for their decision to relegate Saturday’s Women’s Big Bash Final to their secondary channel 7mate.

The Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder will take part in the WBBL06 final at North Sydney Oval starting at 7:10pm AEDT.

However, viewers looking for the game on free-to-air will be forced to look a little bit harder with the host broadcaster opting to show the match off their primary channel.

The decision follows Channel Seven’s decision to broadcast a cricket-themed episode of The Front Bar on their main channel when the WBBL semi final was playing on 7mate on Thursday.

MORE: Marcus Stoinis’ side strain opens the door for Cameron Green’s international debut

Channel Seven attempted to renegotiate their broadcast agreement with Cricket Australia a couple of months ago this summer over a perceived lack of product.

And many fans and cricket journalists a like were quick to point out the double standard by the network for not showing the showpiece final of domestic Australian women’s cricket on their main channel.

‘7mate’ even started trending on Twitter around Australia with so many punters taking to the platform to vent their frustration. It’s not the first time this year a television network has come under fire for relegating women’s cricket to their secondary network.

Channel Nine was heavily criticised for moving the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup to 9GEM in March.

As for what is showing on Channel Seven‘s main channel instead of the WBBL final? The animated movie Frozen.

According to AAP’s Scott Bailey, Channel Seven believe there is no difference between their primary and secondary channels in terms of viewership.
