We’ve all heard of undying love before, but have you ever actually seen it? Photographer Danielle Gwilliam decided to push the boundaries of the traditional wedding vow “till death do us part” and put a haunted Halloween spin in it by creating a chilling zombie-inspired photoshoot. A friend of hers had always wanted to have a Halloween-themed wedding, but since she never had the opportunity, Gwilliam decided to turn her dream into a reality.
Set in a secluded forest in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, the shoot is everything you’d imagine in your wildest nightmares. Black table settings, a stone altar, and Halloween-themed decor made the outdoor venue frighteningly gorgeous. Not a single Halloween detail was missing as the shoot featured everything from large pumpkins and crimson bouquets to skeleton limbs and golden skulls that could be found in every corner. The bride’s white wedding dress was covered in fake blood stains, while her ghostly-white skin was littered with makeup-applied open wounds. Her groom sported a sleek black suit along with a few gorey bruises of his own. As for the wedding cake, it felt only fitting to have the newly-dead wed couple indulge in a zombie’s favorite dish. (It’s a no-brainer to leave the best for last.)
